Aveng Infraset is a business unit of the Aveng Group which actively pursues extensive global interests encompassing the building, construction, engineering, mining, manufacturing and steel processing industries. JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The incumbent will be responsible to ensure plant availability above level of 90% through world class preventative maintenance plan and enhancing equipment safety.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: • N6 and relevant technical qualification. • Computer literate. • Valid driver’s licence + own vehicle. • NOSA or other official safety organisation training. EXPERIENCE: • Five years mechanical and electrical/control maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. • PLC knowledge essential (Festo; Siemens S7, CX-one on Omron and others). • Experience in retaining block and paving making machines essential. • Experience in concrete roof tile manufacturing machines will be an added advantage. • Working with safety systems: ISO 14001, 18001 and the OHS Act.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): • Ensure a plant availability level in excess of 90% through operating a preventative maintenance system. • Manage the maintenance team. • Develop, implement and operate a preventative maintenance program. • Attending to mechanical and electrical breakdowns: fault-finding, dismantling, repair, re-assembly, replacement, installation, testing. • Apply all safety legislation in the maintenance methodology. • Promote a safety culture that incorporate safety in all aspects of the working environment. • Assist with R&D on new and existing products.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Superior electrical and mechanical maintenance capabilities. • Very good knowledge on hydraulics. • Excellent fault-finding ability. • Good knowledge of electrical drawings. • Supervisory/people skills. • Ability to perform without supervision and to strict deadlines. • Read, interpret and use manuals, drawings and specifications. • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to initiate and complete action. • Ability to work on different shifts. • Pro-activeness, Promptness & Accuracy.

As the Shaft Timberman you will ensure effective maintenance of the shaft in order to maintain the correct standard including the effective administration of all shaft systems (data accuracy, integrity and backup).

Ø Obtain checklist for labours & Material.
Ø Checking the quantity and quality of the material that is received from the production unit.
Ø Supervises a crew of labourers in moving material, transporting supplies and equipment, and raising structures; assures that crew are supplied with proper tools and materials.
Ø From general instructions, assigns and supervises the work of labour crews engaged in a variety of tasks such as assembling and installing equipment and machinery and in repairing fences and related structures
.Ø Assist in Preparation and distribution of daily schedule.
Ø Make sure the safety and hazard free work environment.
Ø Coordinating with client on site, for any amendment /changes from the client; inform operation director to get prior approval for installation/ amendment.
Ø Provide progress report along with Pictures (of the working sites) for every project.
Performs all other duties related to work as required or directed by management.
