Position summary:


  • To oversee , analyse and report on the AMMEA fixed assets. This work includes the supervision for recording the cost of tangible and intangible fixed assets, physical verification, coding and accounting for the disposal of fixed assets whether through a sale or at the end of their useful life.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:


FA controls

  • Monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets in order to ensure the best implementation for policies & procedures.

New FA account:

  • Review the Creation of new asset number (code) to ensure that the asset category, depreciation rates are recoded to align with standards & DG policy and the correct center has been charged against the approved capex plan.
  • Monitor the AMMEA Capex projects to control and manage the approved budget, analyze project transactions and capitalize project and records them to the right accounts.
Update FA Policies & Standards:
  • Recommend and inform management with any updates in accounting policies related to fixed assets to ensure that fixed assets management always adopt the latest standards.
FA Verification:
  • Monitor the periodic physical counts, verification and coding of fixed assets to ensure a proper control and utilization for the fixed assets.

  • Analyze the fixed assets reports regularly and Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of, and following & approve any further adjustments in FA register to ensure having an updated records.
Team Development & Supervision :
  • Supervise the team and individuals, monitoring their performance and avail the opportunities for their coaching and development.


Minimum Qualification & Experience:


  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business Administration
  • Certified Accountant (ACCA/CPA) (Preferable)
  • Minimum 6 + years experience in Finance within a corporate environment
  • Minimum 5 + years experience in accounts within a complex environment
  • Minimum 3 + years experience supervising Accounts/Receivables Team
  • Minimum 3 + years work experience in local market
