AEL is looking to recruit a Blaster: Opencast to work in the Northern Cape: Sebilo. To advise and support the Site Manager with the northern cape in the implementation of the Company SHEQ and skills/safety training objectives by providing expert and functional expertise in legal (both SHEQ and training related) and company compliance and innovative interventions to achieve world class SHEQ/Operational performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Operate in a safe and efficient manner at company and customer sites. • Competent operation of technical blasting tools. • Interpretation of blast design data for safe and efficient blasting. • Communication of blast design data to supervisor/customer/sub-contractor. • Responsible for logistics of supply of explosives products for blasting operations at allocated sites. • Responsible for safe blasting process. • Conducts post blast evaluation. • Identifies and analysis opportunities for value adding services to improve customer operations. • Blasting assessments on a weekly basis on the operators and assistants. • Monthly reports on the business, supply, delivery and usage of product. • Interfacing with the technical projects team, accountable for all technical projects on site.
Qualifications & Experience
• Matric / Grade 12 or NQF equivalent. • Surface Blasting Certificate. • Minimum 2-3 years open cast blasting experience as a blaster/technical officer. • Valid Red Ticket. • Valid First Aid certificate. • Valid Code B Drivers Licence.
