They recently won a construction project in Ladysmith KZN and intend doing more expansion into KZN. As a result they now require a Construction Manager to oversee the Ladysmith project plus all additional contracts that they hope to win throughout KZN.
Providing leadership, direction and management of the construction projects, the Construction Manager will develop, monitor and control the project scope, time and quality. He/She will also be responsible for the management of internal budgets and expenditure; effective document control and report writing.
As a key member of the Management Team, the Construction Manager will also be responsible for implementing effective Risk Management controls and liaising with clients and other key role players to ensure that the client’s expectations are achieved.
Must have a BTech / Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management – NQF Level 7.
Postgraduate Degree / Diploma or further formal training in Construction Contracts is advantageous.
Registration with ECSA, SACPCMP or PMI (as PMP) is advantageous.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the field of construction supervision, construction and contract management, with a strong bias to multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience in Building and Civil Construction and/or Maintenance Projects is vital.
Must have valid drivers’ license.
Computer literate in MS Office, MS Projects.
Good reporting and writing skills.
Knowledgeable on the various standard forms of contract.
Negotiation and conflict management skills.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations.
