Technical Lab Assistant

Core Duties:

  • Setting up, updating firmware, Load testing and repacking of Companies assured packages
  • Testing and fault-finding on returned products
  • Writing reports on faulty products and communicating with the appointed technician
  • Accurate data entry on faulty return logs in SOP with detailed explanation of findings
  • Maintenance charging of batteries in stock, this includes managing the charge cycles
  • Supporting other members of the technical team
  • Updating firmware of products when required
  • Inspection of product ranges if required
  • Setup of simulated tests for product testing
  • Repairing faulty equipment when approved by the manufacturer
  • Organisation of physical stock of returned products labelled and shelved

Other duties:

  • General housekeeping of the Lab and Lab storage area
  • Managing and maintaining of lab test equipment and tools
  • Maintaining documentation and indexing of Lab equipment and tools
  • Improve the technical department
  • Adhere Health and Safety regulations in and around lab area

The successful candidate will need to possess the following:

  • 3+ years in a PV installation or technical support background
  • Good knowledge of solar products
  • Equipment testing experience
  • Equipment repair experience
  • Experience with lithium ion battery storage
  • An electrical engineering qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent IT literacy
