Mining Specialist – Business Development


Dynamic and expanding company in the service industry is looking for a Mining Specialist with sales experience to develop product and services in the mining sector, identify key mining operations. Upselling on new and current clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify sales opportunities where demo’s and presentations can be done
  • Be aware of and understand the competition service offerings
  • Understand the market and communicate with key decision makers
  • Keep up to date with the MHSA to ensure compliance from a service offering aspect
  • Sound knowledge of the different stage’s mines are in (Dormant, active, feasibility)
  • Put together a data base of mine within the geographical area with a granular approach
  • Attend mining expo’s and exhibitions
  • Marketing of the company
  • Upsell on current mining contracts
  • Ensure vendor numbers and company profiles are always up to date
  • Assist with the roll out of new site to ensure the customers’ expectations are met
  • Submit Weekly reports on sites visited and leads gathered
  • Work closely with internal sales to identify new opportunities
  • Work hand in hand with operations
  • Weekly visits to current customers
  • Identify new opportunities not only in the mining sector
  • Discuss Sales and strategies with Depot Manager and National Mining Specialist
  • Identify areas where product development is needed and communicate via the client interface portal

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Excellent knowledge of the various Mines in Rustenburg
  • Must know the MHSA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Sales Focused
  • 5 years mining experience
  • National Diploma/Degree Business Management/Logistics or any other relevant qualification
  • Underground mining and mineral processing knowledge min 3 years
