Maintenance Planner

Introduction

This Specialised Diagnostic Level technical position in the Mining and Construction/OEM industry executes Maintenance Planning and Scheduling for a Service Section for Komatsu South Africa

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Executes repairs and maintenance scheduling and planning
  • Plans conditions-based monitoring (“what if” scenario’s) and runs scenarios to mitigate risk
  • Maintains and updates the plan
  • Assumes responsibility for the backup and update of all planning systems and manual data files
  • Flags deviations from plan and communicates with Service Management timeously
  • Monitors costs and efficiencies
  • Assists Service Management (Foreman, Depot Manager, Operations Manager) in the monitoring and allocation of resources as  the approved plan rolls out (implementation)
  • Develops and disseminates t
  • Analyses report information, correlates information with other systems, (such as SAP and Komtrax) in order to propose changes/continuous improvement initiatives
  • emplates for use by Service lines of business in order to streamline their work
  • Transfers planning and scheduling skills and knowledge to Service lines of business
  • Prints reports on Maintenance Metrics, costs, efficiencies, downtime and trends

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS: 

B. Tech – technical diploma

 

EXPERIENCE:

4 – 6 years, repair and Maintenance Planning experience, Komatsu Product knowledge or Heavy Earth Moving/ Mining equipment is essential, experience of automated scheduling tools in an engineering environment is essential

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

MS Word (Intermediate), MS Excel (Advanced), Komtrax – data & reporting, Komatsu R&M Care, OHSA, Valid Drivers’ License
