Driver Trainer – Fuel Division


My client a market leader within the Transport and logisitcs sector has a vacancy for a experienced Driver Trainer – to be based in the Eastern Cape.

Reporting to the National Training Manager, you will be responsible for the full training function of all Ultra Heavy Duty Motor Vehicle drivers in the Eastern Cape, with a strong focus on the Fuel Division.

Expereince in Tanker Operations is ESSENTIAL

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the effective implementation of TETA accredited training in line with Operational requirements
  • Support of all Accident Prevention Campaigns
  • Ensure the effective recruitment of all new Drivers
  • Identitify and minimise all potential risks and to undertake motor vehicle crash investigations within you region
  • To manager the general administration of Driver files and TETA accredited training and ensurinf that Assessors / Moderators reports are on file
  • Monitoring of Drivecam to address any driving issues with Drivers
  • Completing of training matrix
  • Undertake Incab assessements and training
  • Updating and maintaining of Route Risk Assessments
  • Liaising with different Stakeholders – including the Training Manager, Contract Managers and Fleet Controllers and Supervisors

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Code EC License and a valid PRDP with category DGP
  • At least 5 years driving experience in the Fuel, Gas and Oil Sector
  • Minimum 5 Years training experience
  • Experience in training within the Fuel, Gas and Oil Sector is ESSENTIAL
  • In possession of a Facilitator and Assessor qualification accredited by TETA
  • Be registered as an assessor with TETA for the following unit standards
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Road  – Unit Standard 123259
    • Firefighting – Unit Standard 12484
    • First Aid – Unit Standard 116511
  • Computer Literacy with intermediate level of MS Excel
  • Tank Operations Experience – ESSENTIAL
  • Experience in training of Fuel, Gas and General freight
  • Training and Driving knowledge of Ultra, Heavy and Meduim Motor Vehicles
  • Practical experience in investigating accidents and incidents
  • RTMS implementation knowledge and experience
  • Organise and planning of the Driver Trainer Courses
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and without Supervision
  • Ability to foster and maintain excellent client relationships on the allocated contracts
  • Ability to work under intense pressure
  • Ability to work flexible hours and over weekends (when required)
